What is seborrheic eczema?

The seborrheic eczema is also called "seborrheic dermatitis." It is defined as an inflammation of the skin which is related mostly to stress, pollution, diseases (such as Alzheimer) or even lack of sunlight. Too aggressive shampoos can lead to the development of seborrheic eczema.

Microscopic fungi and yeast: Pityrosporum ovale or (Malassezia furfur) or the orbicularis ptyosporum can also be the cause of seborrheic eczema.

Location of seborrheic eczema

Contrary to popular belief, seborrheic eczema appears not only on the scalp, but also on the face, especially on the nose, eyebrows and / or ears, or even lip contour. In case of seborrheic eczema on the face, the flakes are dry, unlike eczema of the scalp where flakes are greasy.
Our shampoo targets exclusively the scalp; for the face, we recommend the use of the Foaming Complex Pso Natura.

Symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp

It comes in the form of fatty red patches and scales (thick plaques) because of the presence of sebum on the scalp.

The seborrheic dermatitis, or "eczema of the scalp" leads to white flakes that fall on the shoulders and upper back, preventing many people from wearing dark clothes. The most severe form results in the formation of cradle cap that covers the entire scalp. This type of eczema is accompanied by severe itchiness.

Seborrheic dermatitis in infants

It can reach the scalp, but also the face, as well as it can for adults.
